Day 2 - Ray Park
Day 2 started with the Jay Laga'aia breakfast - going to these breakfasts was nice. The advantage was we got in early without the pain of having to endure the line again.Jay Laga'aia (Captian Typho) signs his autograph during the Breakfast - the breakfast was well worth it if you were able to get in - free shwag, and you don't have to wait in line! Plus you get to meet the host.
A very elaborate Queen Amidala costume. Ugh, that thing has to be uncomfortable. I think I'm safe in assuming that Imperial Officer accompanying her is her mother.
Some folks like combining their loves with some interesting results. He even has his own web site!. Safe to say he has fun and has spent considerable time and effort on that costome - even has a rhinestone Imperial emblem on the cape.
JarJar - Frozen in Carbonite... now that's an idea! This was 100% fan made and given the level of detail apparent it was a labor of love.
George Lucas himeself visited the driod builders room where this was and it was said that when he saw this he laughed and said, "I like it, I want one!". Sweet! So far I have been able to verify that actually happened too. Nice to see Lucas doesn't take things too seriously.
This C3P0 and R2D2 replica were also in the droid builders room. Very detailed and very nicely done.
Ray Park in action - he played Darth Maul in The Phantom Menace. Seeing him in person and on stage you get an appreciation of what a skilled martial artist he is. It is a lot of fun just watching him.
A very good Darth Maul costume - he was on stage with Ray. It was funny watching Ray and his alter ego side by side. You can tell the guy dressed as Darth Maul was having a proud moment and who could blame him!
High-flying Ray Park shows off more moves. He is very very nimble and agile.
A very good General Grievous costume. Very elabore and difficult character to emulate. I heard later that he won first place and it's easy to see why!
