Day 3 - George Lucas Day!
This day was a mixed blessing. I never thought a Star Wars Celebration would turn into an ultimate test of my mettle. This was a rough rough way to start the day. Minimal sleep, got in line at around Midnight and was treated to some of the worst spring weather Indy could've possibly belted out. Less than 40 F, gusting winds, and rain. The kind of cold that cuts you right to the bone.
It was a huge endurance test to stay in. I did but I shivered uncontrollably for 2-3 hours after I got inside - a sure sign that hypothermia was in process. Not good.
Thank god my E-1 is weather proof - and I can say that it truly is because it definitely got wet, and cold as it was exposed to the elements.
The man himself - crowd going nuts and me standing on my chair with my 50-200mm zoom lens doing rapid fire. Managed to bag this image of him from my seat. Blurred it slightly but it's hard not to in those shooting conditions.
I believe this was one of the shots that the local Fox affilliate WXIN used. Got my name on TV and didn't have to be arrested or maimed in some cute fasion to do it. Not a bad deal.
Another shot of George answering questions.
George intently listens to a fan question.
At some point this boy was invited on stage. He was reacting to someone as he stood on stage looking back down on someone with his hands on his hips - George followed suit and the crowd laughed. Cute scene.
David Prowse - the man behind Darth Vader. He had some funny stories to swap. Apparently since he was behind the mask and his lines overdubbed he would sometimes mess with his poor follow actors. Some of them had a very difficult time keeping a straight face.
Baker and Davis trying to get a voice-controlled R2 toy working.
Jake Lloyd - aka Little Anakin. 17 now I believe and much bigger than he was before. He's grown. He was very patient giving fans the chance to meet and greet with him.
