Desk Organizers

My wife wanted a nice organizer to hold our TV remotes, coasters, and so on. After making some sketches and refining my ideas down a bit I honed the sketches down to concrete dimensions and so on.

After that, I transferred those designs onto the wood - in this case a simple piece of project board.

After that it was a matter of cutting out the pieces and slotting it all together.

Afterwards, my son wanted something similar for his desk in his room. This was a wonderful time to teach him how to plan things from the initial design to refine it down to something tangible. In this scenario, I was able to use my router and routing table to make the cuts.
