Sedona

My father and I traveled to Sedona the first time back in May of 2003. I found Sedona a wonderful and peaceful place as we spent time traveling around the area and exploring various parts.

My father and I ran up various trails - one of them took us up the side of the airport mesa but outside of the fence. Visitors had erected rock cairns amongst the prickly pear cacti.

Probably more of a brook - it runs along side Oak Creek. We spent the lion share of our time in the Crescent Moon Picnic Area touring around within sight of Cathedral Rock.

Shots like this one are pretty common fare for that area. It is one of the most photographed scenes, easy to understand why because it is a truly beautiful sight. This photograph was taken on a later visit with my E-1.

Here's another shot of Cathedral Rock from over Oak Creek. This is near the spot where my father and I spent a couple of hours doing nothing but sit on the bank with our feet in the cool water. It was a truly wonderful and peaceful experience just sitting there, watching the water run through it and just letting our minds wander wherever they may go. It's a memory I wouldn't trade for anything.
